Japanese pattern stamp - positives and negatives

For today's pattern, I made two different versions of the stamp - one that stamps the positive leaf shapes, and one that stamps the negative pointy square shapes in between. Or vice versa!
I carved the shapes as in yesterday's post, by drawing the outline on the stamp carving block, then carving away the excess.

It was difficult to line these stamps up perfectly as I was stamping them, so the finished effect is not perfect. I prefer the effect of the pointy square stamp to that of the leaf shape.

The design reminds me a lot of this paper I made from cucumber on an art college course!
