Transformation cards

One of my purchases from Muji was a pack of blank playing cards, which I want to decorate with my own designs. I have a few packs of cards in a style known as transformation cards, in which the hearts, diamonds, clubs or spades on a card are incorporated into a picture, and I wanted to try something like that myself. Here are my first few cards, along with a blank card and one I am in the process of drawing.

WOW! Cool playing cards! Didn't know you can get blank ones!

These are a fun product - what sort of finish do they have on the back - something a bit shiny or are they essentially just cut out card with the suites applied? I'm glad you enjoyed my blog - you must live not that far from St A.

Hi Alison

I'm in Glenrothes, so not that far from St A.

The cards are made of quite smooth card, but they are not shiny like a normal playing card, so it is possible to draw on them.

I've got Tony Meeuwissen's "Key to the Kingdom" set of Transformation cards and find them bewitching - the designs are just so clever! I had no idea you could buy blank playing cards, but what a superb job you're doing with these. Lovely!
