Vietnam: Halong Bay

After a long bus ride from Hanoi we arrived at Halong Bay and headed out to our boat. We were joined by a Scottish couple and three German guys. The rooms were as good as in any hotel, with little balconies.
Some of the others went kayaking, and I went along on the tender boat to take photos, which turned into my own little guided tour as the staff returned some extra kayaks to their base where there were cute dogs, showed me a cave and some fish, and I was able to take some photos of our boat. On the boat there were activities including a tea-making demo, squid fishing, and tai chi. And excellent food!

The next day we went to an island and visited some spectacular caves, and also saw some lovely butterflies along the road. After brunch we left to head to the airport and visited a pearl centre along the way.

Sounds like fun! I love going kayaking but i've never been taught how to fish squid before. That must have been interesting. 💜
