Recently thrifted

On a recent trip to my nearest charity shop I found these two brooches. In fact, it looked like the shop had been given an old lady's whole collection of brooches, because there was a retro jewellery box filled with them. These were the two that I chose.

The one of the Queen is so amazingly kitsch, and it's in a style that I've never seen before - a photo with added gems, covered with a protective plastic film. The other brooch is missing one stone and one dangly bit, but it's lovely all the same. I'm thinking of making a polymer clay faux stone to replace the missing one, and maybe a matching faux turquoise drop bead to hang from it.
