Peter Pan collar

I love Peter Pan collars at the moment, so I made this one that can be worn with any top. It makes a very plain Primark top look quite smart! I used this tutorial, but I also added top stitching. The fabric I used has a faint pinstripe on it, but looks plain black from the distance. I had to make sure I cut out the fabric carefully so the stripes were even at each side.

I'm wearing one of my current favourite hairstyles, the sock bun, and I'm wearing a pair of vintage clip-on earrings that belonged to my gran. This is the first time I've worn them since I inherited them 18 years ago - one of them had lost its clippiness, and I just realised that I could fix it. And I'm also wearing one of my two new pairs of glasses.

Tohoku Tote and Tiny Tote

My Tohoku Tote has been nearly finished for months, but I finally added the bow and a stud to close it. I made it a bit bigger than in the tutorial. Since I started making the bag I have bought a grey coat, so the bag will go with it perfectly! I have a tiny tote bag I got from Paperchase years ago, and find it really useful, so decided to make something of a similar size.

It's kind of based on a pattern from a magazine, but I altered it a bit so that the pink bit is actually a pocket. It's reversible (it's the pink fabric all over on the other size). The grey and pink fabrics are two of my favourite thrifted fabrics. While I was sewing the pink fabric, Bedknobs and Broomsticks was on the TV in the background, and funnily enough the last time it was on TV a few years ago I was sewing with the same fabric!

Strictly Come Dancing gift card

I made this card for my sister-in-law to give Strictly Come Dancing tickets to her mum in. There is a pocket inside for the tickets.

Sarah Lund jumper card

A card for Dad to give to Mum, based on the jumper worn by Sarah Lund in The Killing. I used textured card in an off-white colour, and made a hand carved eraser stamp of the pattern.
