Miniatures shelf
I'd bought this in a £1 shop in Glasgow a few months ago but wasn't sure what to do with it until I saw this on Ismoyo's blog and from there I saw this on Craft Addictions. I used pink and green patterned papers to match my bedroom. Now I wish that I had bought more of these little houses, and I hope that I can remember which shop I bought them in when I next go to Glasgow (there are a lot of different £1 shops there and I was in them all the day that I bought this!).
I've filled it with lots of little things including a little pink strawberry character that I made, some lovely glass beads, a tiny book I made, and badges by Belle & Boo and Asking for Trouble.

Matchbox madness
I came across a group of people on Flickr devoted to filling matchboxes with tiny objects. They had a challenge to fill a matchbox for Valentine's Day, and although I just found out about it yesterday I decided to have a try myself, since I had decorated the perfect matchbox a few years ago.
The contents of the matchbox are as follows:
1. Butterfly stamp
2. Strawberry stamp
3. Stickers
4. Ribbon bow
5. Sun bead
6. Bird bead in a cage
7. Heart paper fastener
8. Pink paper fastener
9. Jewel paper fastener
10. Shell
11. Necklace clasp
12. Bead
13. Paper clip

My new font
I made this font at Your Fonts from a design that I'd drawn a few years ago when there used to be another free fonts site. I'm looking forward to making some more.

Fire at Leslie House
Leslie House (about which I have been writing a local history book) caught fire at about 7pm last night. Although the fire is said to have lit up the night sky, I didn't hear about it until I arrived at work this morning. These photos were taken at lunchtime today, while firefighters were still at work. Most of the roof has been destroyed, and all five floors have been gutted, but much of the stonework has remained intact. More photos on Flickr.

Bagpuss
"Even Bagpuss himself, once he was asleep,
was just an old, saggy cloth cat.
Baggy, and a bit loose at the seams,
But Emily loved him."
(And so did Emma!)
In memory of Oliver Postgate who died in December.
