Sketches of Chengde

These are the only drawings that I had time to do on holiday in China.

I'm so glad you left a comment on my blog - what fun to read your posts! We must have missed each other by only a few days. My DH has been racking his brains to think of the name for the technique for enamalling - thank you! Yes, the toilets, they are worthy of a few posts - all the girls in our group found them amusing/horrifying and they just got worse as the trip wore on! You've taken some lovely photos. Did you manage to colour your sketches while there? I'd say you did more than me as I only did a few and finished them off at home. Now I'm drawing from the photos, it would be impossible otherwise. Thanks again for visiting my blog!

That should be 'enamelling'! Btw, did you enjoy the food? I love the food shot, it reminds me of the great meals we had.

Yes, I did colour them while I was there (although I've just realised that I haven't filled in the hills in the second one!). I'm intending to do a lot of drawing from my photos - I have a new Moleskine sketchbook set aside for that!
I loved the food, although some of it was rather unusual - we had chips with sugar on them one day!
