Hirameki

This month is all about hygge, and I feel that hirameki is something that fits in well with this. It’s a really relaxing thing to do while huddled up under a blanket on a winter day. Hirameki, meaning something like “flash of inspiration”, is the art/craft of creating drawings from random blobs of paint, using a pen to take inspiration from the shapes and create something from them.
These pages came from The Simple Things magazine. On some pages they showed examples of hirameki, and on others they had the same paint splatters for you to create your own design.

On one page I created an under-the-sea design, with various fish (and weird bird things and a mushroom!), and on the other I created a scene of falling autumn leaves and rain.
