Yet more drawings

A really cool vintage brooch I got at the flea market in the Grassmarket, a Dala horse, and some tasty sour jelly beans from M&S.

More drawings

A vintage Sarah Coventry brooch, and my old Singer sewing machine that I was thinking about taking to the charity shop, but decided to draw instead!

Holiday drawing-a-day

I decided that for the two weeks I'm on holiday from work, I will do a drawing each day. These are the first two.

Hair baubles

I love these clear hair baubles with dried flowers embedded in them (even though my hair is not long enough to wear them at the moment!). I'm pleased with how the drawing has come out (apart from the fact that the cubes look different sizes!).

Mr Chin

This is Mr Chin (or more correctly King Chin), one of a set of two fridge magnets by Alessi in collaboration with the National Palace Museum Taiwan. I've been a big fan of the Chin Family range for a while, so I was delighted when my parents got me these magnets.

Plum

I've been eating a lot of plums recently, and I thought this one looked particularly nice with its little leaves.

Midori

I've been meaning to draw this for ages, but I finished the first bottle a month ago and kept going to the supermarket on a Sunday morning when you can't buy booze. But I finally got round to buying some more today. I love it with ginger beer.

A little teapot

I bought this little pot in China. It is filled with water through a hole in the base, but when it is turned upright it does not leak.

Red earrings

I love these red polka dot earrings I got at the £1 shop.

Bagpuss

"Even Bagpuss himself, once he was asleep,
was just an old, saggy cloth cat.
Baggy, and a bit loose at the seams,
But Emily loved him."

(And so did Emma!)

In memory of Oliver Postgate who died in December.

Japanese playing cards

I decided to do some more work on this project that I hadn't looked at for quite some time.

The Queen of Clubs is based on the character Momoko in the Japanese film Kamikaze Girls, who dresses in a style known as Sweet Lolita. The Joker is a maneki neko (lucky beckoning cat).

The Eight of Hearts shows ema (votive tablets), and the Eight of Spades shows non-folding fans (uchiwa).

Piglet

This little glass pig may look like he only has two legs, but I can assure you that the other two were just not visible from this angle!

Two new drawings

I haven't drawn anything for ages, so I sat down today and drew these. The Christmas bauble is one that stays out all year round because I like it so much!

Shiny apple

Every now and then something catches my eye as something to draw in my tiny sketchbook. This one is a necklace that hangs in my bedroom.
