A really cool vintage brooch I got at the flea market in the Grassmarket, a Dala horse, and some tasty sour jelly beans from M&S.

Holiday drawing-a-day
I decided that for the two weeks I'm on holiday from work, I will do a drawing each day. These are the first two.

Bagpuss
"Even Bagpuss himself, once he was asleep, was just an old, saggy cloth cat.
Baggy, and a bit loose at the seams,
But Emily loved him."
(And so did Emma!)
In memory of Oliver Postgate who died in December.

Japanese playing cards
I decided to do some more work on this project that I hadn't looked at for quite some time. The Queen of Clubs is based on the character Momoko in the Japanese film Kamikaze Girls, who dresses in a style known as Sweet Lolita. The Joker is a maneki neko (lucky beckoning cat).
The Eight of Hearts shows ema (votive tablets), and the Eight of Spades shows non-folding fans (uchiwa).
