Mackintosh Month!

Today I'm starting a whole month of posts on the theme of my favourite architect, Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

Just over a month ago, there was a large fire at Glasgow School of Art, Mackintosh's most famous building, and the thought that it might have been lost completely made me appreciate his work all the more.

I can't remember when I first became interested in Charles Rennie Mackintosh, but it was probably at least 20 years ago. In fact, I can't even remember which of his buildings I first visited, but it may have been the Hill House (on the third attempt, because the first time we went it was closed, and the second time my dad's car broke down!). Since then I've visited most of the publicly accessible Mackintosh buildings/

All this month there will be photos, drawings, and lots of craft projects based on Charles Rennie Mackintosh's work! Today, to introduce you to some of his designs,  there are photo collages of the details of some of the buildings. At the top of the post is Scotland Street School, which has some of my favourite details - you can certainly expect some projects based on it this month!
