This fantastic book by Jane Lawson was recommended to me by my friend Marceline, and I'm so glad that I bought it. It's part cookbook, part travelogue, part memoir, and reading it is a zen experience in itself. I don't know whether I will be able to make many of the recipes from the book (although I am enjoying making the green tea latte pictured below), because many of the ingredients are difficult to find here, but reading the recipes is a pleasure even if I never make them, and the fact that it's based on the author's time in Kyoto brings back happy memories of my holiday there. Oh, and the photographs in the book are absolutely stunning!
