Monteriggioni is a beautiful walled village. We arrived there in the late afternoon, and had some time to kill before having a wine tasting with local pastries.
You can pay to go up onto the walls around the village, so some of us did that, and the views out over the Tuscan countryside were amazing!
When we were leaving it was beginning to get dark. The walls looked amazing silhouetted against the clouds.
