Dala horse hexie saddle

For a while I had my Dala horses sitting on my unfinished granny hexagon cushion front, and I think that is what gave me the idea of turning a granny hexagon into a Dala horse saddle!

1. I used this tutorial to make a hexagon (you could make a smaller hexagon if you have a smaller horse).

2. From one of the corners of the hexagon I made a chain long enough to fit around the horse's tummy.

3. I worked two rows of UK double crochet (US single crochet) into this.

4. I made a short chain at the end, long enough to form a button loop, and fastened it off.

5. I sewed a pretty vintage button on each side.

Now he's just as colourful as his painted friends!
