Shiny apple

Every now and then something catches my eye as something to draw in my tiny sketchbook. This one is a necklace that hangs in my bedroom.

Glasgow Craft Mafia

Yesterday I went to the Glasgow Craft Mafia fair at Hillhead Library in Glasgow. Here are some goodies that I bought, all by Asking for Trouble. Her two zines about Tokyo are very interesting to read, and make me wish I was going back there soon!

Ain't no cure for love

I started this when we were waiting for the Leonard Cohen concert to begin, added the figures during the interval, then finished it off at home. The lyrics in the drawing are from one of my favourite songs.

Leonard Cohen

Last night my parents and I went to see Leonard Cohen at the Clyde Auditorium in Glasgow. It would be difficult for me to put into words how I feel about this man's music (I don't have the way with words that he does), so you will have to be content with some photos and the list of songs he performed (which I scribbled down in the dark, so it may not be 100% correct!).

The Future
Ain't No Cure for Love

A Glimpse of the Floating World

Yesterday I went to Perth to an exhibition called A Glimpse of the Floating World at Perth Museum and Art Gallery. Although the exhibition of Japanese art and objects it was quite small, it was well organised and interesting, and the accompanying book with photographs of many of the objects in the exhibition was well produced. There were some items of clothing to try on, so I tried walking in geta sandals for the first time and was pleasantly surprised at how easy they are to walk in. Upstairs there was another interesting exhibition, of paintings by Professor Xiaoyu Zhou, a Chinese artist, mainly of rural people in traditional costume.
